Mosar

Мосар и агроусадьба Заповедный остров
One day a Catholic priest Juozas Bulka arrived in the Belarusian village of Mosar from Lithuania. "A priest from God" (although it sounds like “a much of muchness”) he realised his mission late in life. He started serving the church at the age of 62. But he managed to do a lot of good things.

Having invested all his savings and his heart in Mosar, Juozas Bulka has turned the village into a Mecca for tourists.

A landscape park with a pond, bridge, pergolas and sculptures has been created near the local religious center - St. Anne's Church. There are copies of Pieta by Michelangelo and the Vilnius Gate of Dawn with its wonderworking icon here.

Bulka did more than just improved the outside facades. He persuaded all the locals, without exception, to give up drinking. The moonshine machines were voluntarily moved to the sobriety museum. The museum is now small, but very demonstrative.

Inspired by Mosar, you can continue relaxation on the farmstead “between three lakes”, as the complex “Zapovedny Island” is called. Authentic farmstead. Endless Belarusian hospitality. Reconnection to the nature: active or quiet – it is up to you to decide. A couple of days in this paradise place and you are full of beans again.
